Quantum Information Research Support Center (QCenter)

is a center established at Sungkyunkwan University under the Ministry of Science and ICT's Quantum Information Science R&D Ecosystem Creation Project.
QCenter is dedicated to supporting and advancing research research activities in the field of quantum information science in Korea.

Although quantum information technologies are advancing at a remarkably rapid pace worldwide, Korea still faces challenges due to relatively limited research and development foundations, including a shortage of specialized personnel and infrastructure.
QCenter aims to contribute to the expansion and advancement of the domestic quantum research landscape by fostering talent and building essential infrastructure for a robust quantum information science ecosystem in Korea.

First, to cultivate researchers, we support early-career researchers through overseas training programs and provide educational initiatives to attract and nurture future talent.
Second, expand support for utilizing quantum fabrication facilities for quantum device development, as well as provide access to cloud-based quantum computing resources for research and educational purposes.

The advent of quantum information science and technology— referred to as the second quantum revolution—brings both great expectations for opening unprecedented possibilities and concerns due to the high level of technical complexity involved.

At this point, QCenter will strive to bring together national research capabilities and serve as a hub for quantum technologies, working toward positioning Korea as a leading nation in quantum technology in the near future.

Thank you
